A letter to all league members from Marc D'Aprile:

11-17-04

To the shooters of the Gotham Dart League,

Hope all is well. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Marc D'Aprile. I've been playing darts for over 10 years and recently returned to league play in Brooklyn. Awhile back Phil Fried sent a letter to the shooters of Gotham requesting that anyone interested in taking their game to the national level contact him. This letter is a follow up to Phil's. I've been in contact with Phil and we've been discussing the possibility of organizing an ADO event here in Brooklyn! The event will be a
single elimination qualifier.
     A
single elimination qualifier event is an ADO (american darts organization) sanctioned "tournament" whereby the winner of the event "qualifies" for a  regional competition. In addition, the winner of the qualifier will win entry fee ($110) towards the regional event. As you may or may not know the region we play in is 5-3 of the ADO (which covers NY, NJ and PA). Just so we're clear, no money is paid to the winner of the qualifier, only the winners entry fee for Regional ($110) will be covered. This is your opportunity to play against some of the better competition in Brooklyn. If you are at all interested in taking your game to the national level this is your first step towards doing so.
The format for qualifiers can be either single elimination or round robin formats. I will be happy to explain this upon request. The cost for participating in the
qualifier will be $10-$15 (depending on how many people show up). Again, just to clarify, this is a 501 event. Please feel free to ask any questions at any time. We will be more than happy to explain how this all works. If you are interested in participating in a Qualifier event here in Brooklyn please contact either me @ dartfullyarmed@aol.com or Phil @ nofuginway@optonline.net. We really hope to hear from you soon! Take care and good darts,

-Marc
